Modest Mussorgsky

The Russian Visionary

Nationalistic and dramatic. Known for his piano suite "Pictures at an Exhibition" and operatic masterpiece "Boris Godunov."

I am sorry to see that so many composers are not able to show their ideas except by means of complicated forms.

Modest Mussorgsky was a Russian composer, member of "The Five," and innovator in Russian music. His works reflect the spirit and history of Russia, capturing its folk melodies and dramatic essence. Mussorgsky's compositions are characterized by their raw power, bold harmonies, and vivid storytelling.
